The Social Director's picks for
Cocktail Time

You want a place to stop off for a drink or a glass of wine before or after the show at the Intiman Theatre. There are many options in this neighborhood, so you can select the experience you seek.

Quiet Conversation
Kaspars Restaurant and Wine Bar, 19 West Harrison 206-298- 0123. Seafood. Tues-Thurs 5pm - 10pm, Fri/Sat 5pm - 11pm. Closed Sun/Mon.Expensive.
The wine bar is attached to a first-rate restuarant. You can also order food in the wine bar - small plates of the same fabulous food - a good option if you want to graze, but don't have time for a whole meal.

The Melting Pot, 14 Mercer Street (between Queen Anne and 1st) 206-378-1208. Open till 11pm weeknights, till midnight on Fri/Sat.
This chain fondue restaurant also has a bar for a quiet drink after the show. It's right down the street.
Go to the Melting Pot's website

Pub /Sports Bar
Floyds Place, 521 First Ave. N 206-284-3542. Sports Bar with Barbeque. Open until 2am.
OK, maybe the dancing pig and cow sign over the front door should be a tip-off. Decent barbeque, lots of beers, but this place is packed if there's a game at nearby Key Arena.

Retro-Divey
Ozzie's Roadhouse, 105 W Mercer St, (206) 284-4618. Open until 2 am. The retro part is in the back (with the pool and pinball, and cigar smoking), Karaoke rules in the front, cheap beer, bad food and invisible service are available all around.
Ozzie's has a website.

Mecca Cafe
526 Queen Anne Avenue N., (206) 285-9728. Open until 2 am. Definitely smokey.
Narrow, old bar with good drinks (not overpriced) and lots of regulars. Decent diner food at the adjacent 5 Point.
